Important Notice: You are responsible for the lawfulness of your own campaigns under the rules of every place you call. In India that means the Telecom Commercial Communications Customer Preference Regulations (TCCCPR) and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act). Elsewhere it includes the TCPA in the US, the GDPR, and local do-not-call rules.
You are responsible for having each person's consent where the rules need it, and for calling only at lawful hours. The platform gives you specific controls. Two are always on:
- a spoken statement at the start of the call that the caller is an automated AI assistant, which no setting removes;
- a block on dialling anyone who asked not to be called, on a call, by WhatsApp STOP or through the customer link, whatever your compliance settings say.
The rest are yours to configure, and what you switch off is your responsibility:
- a calling-hours check on the recipient's own clock, on by default. While it is on, Indian numbers are dialled only between 10:00 and 21:00, a window you may narrow but not widen;
- a check against your own do-not-call list, on by default;
- a consent check, off by default. When it is on, an Indian number needs consent taken through the operator's process, an existing contract, or the customer's own approach;
- a compliance log that records each blocked dial and the reason.
These controls do not make a campaign lawful on their own. The platform does not register sender headers or the 140 and 1600 number series with a telecom operator, and does not keep scrub records. Those remain with you and your telecom provider.
